Working with FIPRO
Storage and handling:
The special typical characteristics of the FIPRO panels have to be considered
during storage, transport and handling:
Carry boards upright and handle them with a certain amount of care.

Machining:
FIPRO panels can be processed easily and safely in any woodworking shop or
factory using conventional tools and applying the same manufacturing methods
normally used when working with chipboards.

for example:

Carbide-Tipped Circular Saw-blades
Any carbide-tipped circular saw-blade, commercially available to the wood-
working industry, can be used to cut FIPRO panels.

Sabre Saw / Jig Saw / Band Saw
Occasionally, the use of sabre, jig or band saw is necessary to make certain cuts.
Again, the same blades and methods that apply to chipboards can be used.

Router or Shaper
Shaping of edges and surface routing can be performed with the same carbide-
tipped cutters normally used on chipboards for the same operations.

Double-End Router / Shaper
Double-end routers / shapers are used to produce large quantities of panels with
the same edge treatment; rebating, tongue and groove, planning, etc..
Cutting tools are the same as those used for chipboards. Cutting speed may be
somewhat reduced (about 10%), depending on board density, thickness and
surface covering.

Furniture
Special fastenings are available for installing FIPRO panels in furniture and
furnishings. If you consider the special properties, you can produce solid, non-
flammable furniture for all applications. For details please contact us:

Surface finishing and gluing recommendations
Overlaying and veneering of FIPRO panels

General
Fundamentally, FIPRO panels are suitable for all surface coverings. The choice
of the applicable adhesive is determined from the differing qualities of the base
and layer materials, and the local conditions of the manufacturer (mechanical
equip-ment, etc.). Consideration for the application area of the finished parts,
the climatic conditions of final destinations, and applicable fine regulations is
necessary.
With due consideration for the special qualities of FIPRO panels (mechanical
stiffness, structural and chemical construction of the vermiculite board), the
manufacturing process is similar to the one of chipboards.

Especially for surface finishing, it is absolutely necessary to inform us in advance
and to conduct sample tests!
